Fake Gini Talent Recruiter Emails and Fraudulent Interviews — How to Verify It’s Really Us

Fake Gini Talent Recruiter Emails and Fraudulent Interviews — How to Verify It’s Really Us

At Gini Talent, protecting the trust of candidates and clients is not something we take lightly. Unfortunately, we must once again alert our community: a new wave of fraud is underway, and this time the scammers have become more sophisticated.

In the past, impersonators targeted job seekers through WhatsApp and Telegram messages. We warned our community about those schemes here:

Today, the fraudsters have changed their tactics. They are now sending polished, professional-looking recruitment emails that copy our name, our logo, our website address, and even the names of real Gini Talent team members.

What’s Happening Now?

Based on reports from candidates, here is how the current scheme works:

  1. A convincing email arrives. The message appears to come from a “Gini Talent executive recruiter.” It references the candidate’s real career history (often taken from their public LinkedIn profile), mentions a “confidential retained search” for a well-known global company, and uses our logo and branding in the signature.
  2. But the sender address is not ours. These emails are sent from free email providers — addresses such as ginitalentrecruitmentteam@gmail.com or similar variations on Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, and other free services. Gini Talent never contacts candidates from free email accounts. All genuine communication comes exclusively from addresses ending in @ginitalent.net/.
  3. The recruiter name may be invented — or stolen. In some cases, scammers invent fictitious recruiter names. In others, they list the names of real Gini Talent employees and executives as the “hiring partner” to make the process look legitimate. Please note: seeing a real name does not mean the message came from that person.
  4. The scam can go as far as a full interview. Several candidates have reported being invited to and completing video “interviews” for roles at companies that Gini Talent has no engagement with whatsoever. These fake processes are designed to harvest personal information, identity documents, and financial details — or to eventually request payments for “onboarding,” “equipment,” or “visa processing.”

A Real Case: How One Candidate Uncovered the Scam

We want to share a recent, real example — with the candidate’s identity protected — because it shows exactly how these schemes work and how the right instinct can protect you.

A candidate went through what appeared to be a legitimate interview process for a role at a company presented to him as Avantgarde Finance (avantgarde.finance). Something about the interview felt off, so he did exactly the right thing: because a real Gini Talent executive had been listed as the “hiring partner” in the process, he found that person on LinkedIn and messaged him directly, asking whether Gini Talent was actually working with and hiring for that company.

The answer was immediate and unambiguous: it was a scam. Gini Talent has no engagement with this company and is not conducting any recruitment on its behalf, and the executive named as the hiring partner had never been involved in any such search. The candidate’s message allowed us to act quickly and begin taking the necessary steps against the fraudsters.

To be clear: our statement concerns the fraudulent recruitment process only. Scammers frequently attach the names and websites of real organisations to their schemes to appear credible, and those organisations may themselves be unaware that their name is being misused. What we can confirm with certainty is this: any recruitment process claiming that Gini Talent is hiring for Avantgarde Finance is fraudulent and does not originate from us.

The lesson from this case is simple: if something feels wrong, verify — but verify through official channels. This candidate wisely bypassed the contact details given to him by the scammers and reached out to a verified profile instead. That single message exposed the entire scheme. Had he asked the “recruiter” who contacted him, he would have received nothing but reassurance and more lies.

Red Flags to Watch For

If you receive an email or message claiming to be from Gini Talent, stop and check for these warning signs:

  • The sender's email domain is not @ginitalent.net/. This is the single most important check. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Proton, or lookalike domains (e.g., “gini-talent,” “ginitalents,” “ginitalenthr”) are not us.
  • “Confidential” opportunities you can’t verify. Scammers use the word “confidential” precisely so that you won’t try to confirm the role independently.
  • Name-dropping major global brands. Fraudsters frequently claim to be hiring on behalf of well-known multinational companies to add credibility.
  • Pressure to move quickly or unusual secrecy around the process.
  • Requests for identity documents, banking details, or any form of payment. Gini Talent never asks candidates for money — not for applications, interviews, equipment, training, or visa processing. Never.
  • Interviews arranged entirely outside official channels, with no confirmation email from an @ginitalent.net/ address.

How to Verify a Genuine Gini Talent Contact

Before sharing any personal information or attending any interview, take one minute to verify:

  1. Check the email domain. Genuine emails come only from @ginitalent.net/.
  2. Check our official job listings. All active roles are published at ginitalent.net/en/jobs.
  3. Verify the recruiter. Look the person up on our official LinkedIn page: linkedin.com/company/ginitalent-recruitment-staffing. If the message claims a specific Gini Talent employee is involved, contact us directly to confirm — do not rely on the contact details provided in the suspicious message itself.
  4. Ask us. If anything feels off, forward the message to security@ginitalent.com before responding. We will confirm within a short time whether the contact is genuine.

What Gini Talent Will Never Do

  • We will never contact you from a free email account (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.).
  • We will never ask you for payment at any stage of the recruitment process.
  • We will never ask for banking details, card information, or copies of identity documents through unofficial channels.
  • We will never conduct recruitment through WhatsApp, Telegram, or personal messaging apps.
  • We will never pressure you to make a decision before you’ve had the chance to verify who you’re speaking with.

What to Do If You’ve Been Targeted

If you have received one of these emails, or if you have already participated in a suspicious interview process:

  1. Stop all communication with the sender immediately.
  2. Do not send documents, personal data, or money — and do not click links or download attachments in the message.
  3. Report it to us at security@ginitalent.com with screenshots, the sender’s email address, and any other details. Every report helps us take down these operations faster and protect other candidates.
  4. Report the sender to the email provider (e.g., Gmail’s “Report phishing” option) and to the platform where contact occurred.
  5. If you shared sensitive information, change your passwords, monitor your accounts, and consider notifying your bank. If you have suffered financial loss, report the incident to your local law enforcement or cybercrime authority.

Our Commitment

We are actively working to identify and shut down these fraudulent accounts, and we report every impersonation attempt to the relevant platforms and authorities. But the strongest protection is an informed community.

If you are ever in doubt about whether a message truly came from Gini Talent, don’t guess — ask us. Reach out through our official website or write to security@ginitalent.com, and we will verify it for you.
